Director's Corner

Dear MBD Families & Friends, 

I am honored to begin the 2025–2026 school year as the Director of Student Services and Early Childhood Education. As the building adminsitrator at Martha B. Day, I continue to oversee the day-to-day operations and I remain filled with excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the educational leader in this building.

Prior to joining the Bloomingdale School Community in August 2021, I worked as a special education teacher, primarily in a self-contained setting with students with autism. My experiences in special education—both as a teacher and administrator—have shaped my core belief in the importance of educating the whole child. For students to succeed in school and beyond, they must be supported not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. 

At MBD, our focus  will continue to be on stregthening character education through our school-wide program "Planting Seeds of Success." We will emphasize a different character trait each month, supported by classroom lessons, at-home activities, and schoolwide positive reinforcement. Our goal is to ensure that each student feels safe, confident, and excited about learning, while laying the foundation for them to become kind, capable, and active members of the 21st-century world.

The key to our students’ success lies in the collaborative relationship between school and home. I deeply value open communication, team-based problem-solving, and our shared commitment towards the same goals. Together with our incredible teachers and support staff, we will continue to celebrate small achievements, embrace everyday learning moments, and encourage all children to grow into their best selves.
