Director's Corner
Dear MBD Families & Friends,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year at Martha B. Day Elementary School! As the Director of Student Services and Early Childhood Education and the Building Administrator at MBD, I am honored to continue serving our students, families, and staff and to help lead this incredible school community.
Since joining the Bloomingdale School District in August 2021, I have had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary group of educators, support staff, students, and families. Before joining Bloomingdale, I worked as a special education teacher, primarily in a self-contained setting supporting students with autism. Those experiences, both in the classroom and as an administrator, have shaped one of my strongest beliefs: every child deserves to feel known, valued, supported, and capable of success.
At MBD, we are committed to educating the whole child. Academic growth is important, but so are the social, emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal skills that help children navigate the world around them. Our goal is to create a school environment where children feel safe taking risks, confident in their abilities, excited to learn, and empowered to become the very best versions of themselves. This year, we will continue to build upon our school-wide character education program, “Planting Seeds of Success.” Each month, we will focus on a character trait that helps our students develop the skills and dispositions needed to be kind, responsible, resilient, respectful, and compassionate members of our school and greater community. Through classroom experiences, school-wide activities, family connections, and positive reinforcement, we will continue to nurture the social and emotional growth of every child.
I truly believe that the strongest schools are built through strong partnerships between school and home. Our children thrive when the adults in their lives work together, communicate openly, celebrate their successes, and support them through their challenges. I value collaboration, honest communication, and team-based problem-solving, and I encourage our families to be active partners in their child’s educational journey. As we begin another school year, I look forward to celebrating the big milestones and the little victories that make elementary school so special. Every day brings new opportunities to learn, grow, discover, and plant the seeds for a successful future.
Please know that my door is always open. I encourage you to reach out with questions, ideas, concerns, or simply to share something wonderful your child has accomplished. Together, with our dedicated teachers, support staff, and families, we can create an environment where every child feels that they belong, every child is encouraged to grow, and every child has the opportunity to shine.
Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and support. It is a privilege to serve the MBD community, and I look forward to an amazing year ahead!
Warmly,
Mrs. Allison Peischl (Ms. Alli)
